Snacks in Microwave Oven: The Ultimate Recipes

Microwave baking is everything you never knew you needed. Not just baking, there are several amazing snacks that you can make in the microwave oven, in mere minutes. We might have often relegated the microwave oven to heating leftover food, but it is impressive in so many more ways.

Still skeptical? For your convenience, we have put together two of the absolutely wonderful snack recipes that are going to make your life easier and help you forget all the disappointing, soggy and time-taking recipes of the past.

Microwave Snack Recipe for Amateurs

Microwave Potato Chips

We firmly believe in ‘fries before guys’ and so should you. If we talk about fried snacks, we’ll suggest potato chips over everything else, any day! One of the most versatile foods, they can accompany any meal, taken as a snack, added to make a finger-licking good sandwich and so much more. If you’re someone who loves potato chips, this healthier and quick recipe is for you!

Ingredients

1 Potato

1 Tablespoon Oil

Sale (As per taste)

Method

  1. The first thing to do is wash and dry your potato. Now, you’ll have to slice your potatoes in the thinnest of chips. You can do that by hand, but we’ll suggest that you use a slicer or a mandoline for precision.
  2. Place the thin chips in a bowl and toss them around with salt and oil until well mixed.
  3. Next, cut a piece of parchment paper and place it over your microwave-safe plate.
  4. You will need to distribute the chips evenly, making sure that they don’t overlap each other.
  5. Now let them microwave on high speed for at least 5 minutes or until the chips turn crispy and serve immediately!

Mug Banana Bread

There is no specific time to be craving for a good serving of banana bread. It happens to the best of us at the most unexpected of times, but would you really make a whole load just to satisfy a craving? We wouldn’t as well!

But, banana bread in a microwave oven? We had our doubts as well when we decided to try this recipe but were extremely happy to be proven wrong. Now, this banana bread is a staple for cozy autumn evenings and if you haven’t yet tried it with you evening chai, you’re definitely missing out!
